Needed this today. We try to work ourselves to be seen and for relevance. This is a gentle reminder that we are already worthy in God’s eyes. Thank you.
Beautifully said . Sometimes I don’t know who I am without the “doing”. It’s as if the “just being “ is not enough. I appreciate you putting a mirror to others as you reflect on your own experiences. Thank you ❤️
Wow, this landed. I also watch the birds “just be” and marvel at how nice that must be. Then I grind out another task and get on with my day. {*sigh*} On my nightstand right now is- How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell, Rest Is Resistance, by Tricia Hersey and Overwhelmed by Brigid Schulte. These are the books I’m Ieaning into as I step into 2024.
I'm so glad these words touched you and allowed room for reflection. I will also be adding those books to my reading list, thank you so much for recommending them!
People pleasing has long been a trauma-based survival response for me as well. In my recent essay "The Audacity of Authenticity", I wrote about overcoming my past to embrace authenticity even in the face of criticism. Give it a read!

"We are already worthy in God's eyes." Yes, yes, and yes! Glad this served as a reminder.
