I write for me, first and foremost. I write for all the mentally ill black girls who spent their life misunderstood by themselves and others. I write for those who need to see themselves in the lives of others to know they're okay. I write from my own pain, emotions, insights, and experiences. I write from an empathetic and loving place. I write from a yearning to see more words like mine from people who look like me.
